I bought this book to go along with Professor John Covach's MOOC class on the Music of the Beatles (per his recommendation). This class is on coursera.org. . the order of the songs goes right along with the class and my husband and I, who loved the Beatles music, had a good time listening to a song, then reading about it in this book. Lots of nice tidbits of information, as well as instrumentation for each song. My husband is a musician, so he was very interested in who played what on each song, as I soon became as well. It also tells who wrote each song. I admit, I had no idea George Harrison wrote so many great songs. It was a great purchase and a book that we will keep. The book takes every Song on every Beatle album.It says who wrote what parts of the music and lyrics and what instruments they played and when and where they were recorded. Also, quotes from the boys with their thoughts on their songs.
